Safer Internet Day
There's a list of resources available if you'd like to do any lessons on Internet Safety here
Some of the highlights:
For nursery, P1 and P2 there's an interactive book and lesson plans with Smartie the Penguin here.
For P3 and up, the Smart Crew resources look good.
For older pupils, I really like the look of the Facebook privacy settings checklist - this would be great for discussion. While our pupils shouldn't be on Facebook, I think it's worthwhile discussing the complexities of the privacy settings and why the site is unsuitable for under 13s. You can download it here along with guidance on how to control Facebook privacy settings.
Think U Know, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre's website has resurces for all ages, and this year have made an interactive video about older children trying to post videos online to get a million hits, in which you get to decide what happens. You can watch the trailer below.
